The officer at this level will report to the Human Resource and Administration Officer at the County level.
Job Description
- operate computerized and automated systems;
- monitor security and safety of documents, files and records;
- coordinate non-routine user issues and proper handling of records, materials facilities and equipment;
- recommend disposal of files and documents in liaison with National Archives and Documentation;
- coordinate the management of files and mail;
- ensure prompt collection and dispatch mail;
- maintain an up to date register of mail and movement of files;
- ensure that files are opened and closed as per the laid down procedures;
- requisition required items;
- ensure that automated recording systems are functional;
- compile and up-date records for evaluating performance of records management systems;
- ensure integrity and confidentiality in the provision of records services;
- check correspondence and bring-ups and ensuring appropriate action is taken; and
- mentor and coach staff

(i) served in a Records Management position in the public or private sector for at least three (3) years;
(ii) Diploma in any of the following fields: Records/Information Management, Library/Information Science; Archives and Records Management or their equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
(iii) Certificate in Computer applications from a recognized institution; and
(iv) shown merit and ability results as reflected in the work performance and result.
